In this article, shows the General Systems Theory possibilities in the ethnographic studies. Specifically we analyze the performance of a prison for juvenile offenders through this focus, developing its key concepts to break down and summarize the cultural process in this environment. Concepts such as boundaries, subsystems, attractors o critical situation are used as analytical categories with which synthesize
and represent what is happening there, giving us another approach to analyze these institutions
